Laguna Cricket Club suffers 2nd straight loss
28 February 2010 – Kingfisher Island Cricket Club V’s Laguna Cricket Club.
Another weekend and another fine game of cricket was had. After being pipped at the post the previous week, Laguna were full of confidence going into this match against the top ranked side in the league and with an improved bowling performance they managed to restrict the run flow of KICC as well as bowling them all out in less than the full 35 overs, however, the KICC did manage to surpass the 200 runs total.
Without their star bowler, Ishmail, KICC could have been excused for a little nervousness in the second innings however cool heads prevailed and a fine bowling performance was made all round.
With a valiant effort in the bat, Laguna could only manage of total around 70 runs short of the required score leaving them with their second loss on the trot, and giving them only a mathematical chance of making the main finals game, with Patong having to lose both of its remaining games to let Laguna through.
